"Not all muses can be of the beautiful nymph variety. Sometimes they are frumpy and frizzy. Occasionally there are diagnosable disorders.
It is this niche category of muses that inspired the creations in Boston's Museum of Bad Art (MOBA), a waggish repository for the work of talented artists that have gone awry and exuberant artists barely in control of the brush.
MOBA's permanent collection holds 250 earnest yet ultimately tragi-comic pieces, though for the well being of patrons only 25 are displayed at a time. Rest assured this priceless hoard is in safe hands.
"The preservation of this incompetent body of artwork is our highest priority," reads the MOBA mission statement, except during occasional exhibitions in local car washes.
